Description:
Qualified contractors are invited to submit applications for the design, engineering, supply, construction, erection, testing, commissioning, and operation & maintenance of 25.5 MW of Solar PV power systems (5kW to 2.5MW) as well as the replacement and rehabilitation of pumping equipment at various water stations in Zambia. The project is part of the Nexus Energy Water Programme for Zambia (NEWZA), co-funded by the European Union (EU) and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) through KfW. It aims to strengthen the energy water nexus by improving the efficiency and sustainability of five Zambian water utilities (Southern, Chambeshi, Lukanga, Nkana, Eastern). Key objectives include achieving 55% solar-based energy coverage of pumping systems, increasing pumping efficiency by 15%, and introducing hybrid solar systems at high-risk load-shedding sites. The works will follow the FIDIC Plant and Design-Build Contract (Yellow Book, 1st edition 1999).
